Questions for Stocker article 9/19/17 pt 2

The article discusses in detail the power of silence.  Does silence exert its own power in your life, and do you exert a power over it? If so, how?

Stocker describes in detail the effect of noise in particular, and its relation to nausea, painting it in a negative light. Is all noise negative? What is the main difference that constitutes something being sound or noise? In your everyday life, what do you think you would consider to be sound, and what would you consider to be noise?

Stocker said that with a rise in industry and technology, there is bound to be more noise. However, now that we are learning more about the biological and psychological effects of sound, it seems that we are trying to reduce noise. Do you think that our world is getting louder or quieter? Why?
