I started my sound walk at 8 am. This morning was pretty noisy, well noisy doesn’t seem to be the right word. More like there was a lot of acoustics all happening at once. It was a bit overwhelmingat first, but I realized that I felt overwhelmed because I tend to wear headphones in the morning while I’m walking. Therefore, my ears are constantly listening to static intentional sounds. Also, I’m in control of what song I want to listen to and how high I want to the volume to be at depending on how I feel. However, I was not in control of what I listening to. I heard the powerful garbage truck coming down on Morgan Street, the wind brushing the leaves along my path, the cooks in Wilder moving pots and pans to meet the high demand, the construction workers clambering some metal object against another metal object, the sounds of students feet walking along the pavements to get to class, and the large breath I had let out, due to unconsciously holding my breath. This morning, there was a lot going at 8 am. It’s unfortunate that I couldn’t push a repeat button 🙂
