The Black Alumnae Conference was started in 1973 by the Afro-American Society with the goals of connecting current student students with alumnae, exchanging ideas about a liberal arts education in relation to the demands of the Black community, and giving a greater perspective of job and career opportunities. The conference allowed students to learn “first-hand from alumnae what the Mount Holyoke experience meant to them and how it prepared them to meet the demands of today’s society.” It is now hosted by the APAU, the Alumnae Association, and MHACASA.
