There have been several forums on racism held throughout the history of the College, including several in the 1980s sponsored by the Committee on the Multi-Racial Community
BOOM: Building on our Momentum is an annual learning symposium featuring a series of events about diversity, equity, and inclusion. The day incorporates the voices and experiences of students, faculty, staff, and alums. Sessions are designed by members of the community for the entire MHC community
According to Kijua Sanders-McMurtry, Vice President of Equity and Inclusion, the purpose of the day is to “focus on belonging where we can and to learn from each other. Student activists inspired the creation of this vital learning conference and it is their vision that continues to fuel the work around diversity, equity and inclusion at Mount Holyoke today.”
