Spencer was also heavily involved in campus clubs including the YWCA, Cosmopolitan Club, Peace Club, and Model League of Nations.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Spencer\u2019s honors project was on sharecropping and she spent part of her spring vacation in Orangeburg county in South Carolina, the wealthiest cotton county in that state. She graduated cum laude.
