About

The Blackstick Review  is a literary journal run by the students of English 303 (Short Story Writing II) under the tutelage of Professor Corinne Demas. The current run of The Blackstick Review began in 2004. The name comes from a literary organization founded at Mount Holyoke College by nine seniors in 1909, with the organization continuing until 1961. This organization, beyond publishing a journal, would also bring speakers to campus, including T.S. Elliot in 1963. This issue of The Blackstick Review, Issue 13, features diverse stories written by the English 303 class of Spring 2019, the last semester of Corinne Demas’ 40-year career at Mount Holyoke before retirement.
