Working on learning to write about uncomfortable/taboo subjects was very interesting. I didn’t realize I had such an aversion to some of those things before I was actively trying to write them. Unlearning those biases is a hard but fascinating process!
I also have been thinking about taboo subjects. I surprised myself with an aversion to writing about on sexual topics, but I don’t think it’s bias or shyness. I think it’s more of a loyalty to the specific type of intimacy I’ve built with my husband. I don’t want to share my sexual ideas and fantasies with anyone but him. This choice deepens our connection, and I honor it.
