I was honestly surprised at how well it works to just produce a poem within a few minutes. I have always needed hours, sometimes days, to produce a poem that I was somewhat happy with but trying out all the writing prompts really helped. I particularly liked the one where we had to write down all the answers to random questions and then use them to create a poem. I also enjoyed the one where we had to remember some of the words from a poem and use those for creating our own (however, I felt a bit more limited by that exercise since these words do not feel like they are my words).
I am looking forward to trying out new prompts and different forms of poetry!

I just want to comment how much I am loving reading the poetry on the syllabus. I never thought to read poetry before, but I’m into it now!
