Most notably, the empire sought to cross the <a href=\"https:\/\/commons.mtholyoke.edu\/eastedinose\/serpents-tongue\/\" data-type=\"page\" data-id=\"616\">Serpent&#8217;s Tongue<\/a> in a push towards the <a href=\"https:\/\/commons.mtholyoke.edu\/eastedinose\/shaniz-sea\/\" data-type=\"page\" data-id=\"617\">Shaniz Sea<\/a>. The peoples east and south of the river either resisted the expansion (see <a href=\"https:\/\/commons.mtholyoke.edu\/eastedinose\/nab-waijafta\/\" data-type=\"page\" data-id=\"2042\">Nab Wa\u01d0jaft\u01ce<\/a>) or moved eastwards to the Cinan Islands.
