While it is too far upriver for the water to be used as a means of transportation, the final over land trek is well maintained. This is not the only route to Veorron though. Several mountain passes are used to navigate the <a href=\"https:\/\/commons.mtholyoke.edu\/eastedinose\/helina-mountains\/\" data-type=\"page\" data-id=\"579\">Helina Mountains<\/a> to get to <a href=\"https:\/\/commons.mtholyoke.edu\/eastedinose\/mel\/\" data-type=\"page\" data-id=\"159\">Mel<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/commons.mtholyoke.edu\/eastedinose\/arelti\/\" data-type=\"page\" data-id=\"106\">Arelti<\/a>. Historically, these were used to transport slaves yet more frequently they, or new routes through the rough terrain, are used by escaping slaves, freedom fighters, and the armies of <a href=\"https:\/\/commons.mtholyoke.edu\/eastedinose\/hapina\/\" data-type=\"page\" data-id=\"142\">Hapina<\/a> or <a href=\"https:\/\/commons.mtholyoke.edu\/eastedinose\/mel\/\" data-type=\"page\" data-id=\"159\">Mel<\/a> marching to each other&#8217;s aid. Veorron was not directly involved in instigating the war but increased use of the trade route up the <a href=\"https:\/\/commons.mtholyoke.edu\/eastedinose\/silver-river\/\" data-type=\"page\" data-id=\"618\">Silver River<\/a> to Veorron caused tensions to flair and eventually led to the <a href=\"https:\/\/commons.mtholyoke.edu\/eastedinose\/second-slavery-war\/\" data-type=\"page\" data-id=\"1884\">Second Slavery War<\/a>.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The capital of Hapina sits at the head of the Silver River in the Helina Mountains.
