This scarab is from the New Kingdom, Dynasty 18 between 1570-1293 BCE. It was used as jewelry. The scarab is Egypt\u2019s dung beetle. Underneath there\u2019s a design of a kneeling god. It\u2019s facing right, holding a notched papyrus stalk. This design symbolizes a wish for longevity meaning \u201ca million years.\u201d The notched stalk meant years and the god Heh was a sign for million.
