Her innovative work <a href=\"https:\/\/www.lanl.gov\/discover\/features\/lab-character\/saryu-fensin.php\">has gotten many accolades.<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Paul Grabowski, PhD, BA Vassar &#8217;03 investigates <a href=\"https:\/\/scholar.google.com\/citations?user=GBAi-KIAAAAJ&amp;hl=en\">high energy density phenomena using density functional theory and other computational tools<\/a> at Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Demian Riccardi, PhD, BA Vassar &#8217;00 specializes in <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nist.gov\/people\/demian-riccardi\">multi-scale modeling of a variety of condensed phases<\/a> in the Thermodynamics Research Center at the National Institute of Standards.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Valentino R. Cooper, PhD, BA Vassar &#8217;00 leads a dynamic group at Oakridge National Laboratories focused on <a href=\"http:\/\/www.mcclean-cooper.com\/valentino\/index.php\">driving materials innovation through theory and computation.<\/a>   Valentino is head of the Materials Theory, Modeling and Simulations section of the Materials Science and Technology Division.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Alumni in Academia<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.hendrix.edu\/chemistry\/profile.aspx?id=86390\">Caitlin Scott<\/a>, PhD, MHC &#8217;07 is an assistant professor at Hendrix College leading her own team of undergraduate in computational biochemistry research.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.mtholyoke.edu\/stories\/61236\/deana-jaber-05-phd-assistant-professor-chemistry\">Deana M. Jaber,<\/a> PhD, MHC &#8217;05 is an associate professor at Marymount University.  Deana develops <a href=\"https:\/\/www.researchgate.net\/profile\/Deana-Jaber\/research\">new teaching tools for organic chemistry.<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Innovating in other exciting areas<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.mtholyoke.edu\/stories\/64877\/finding-new-puzzles-math-and-chemistry\">Laura E. Fernandez<\/a>, PhD, BA MHC&#8217;08 is a senior managing editor at the American Chemical Society.
