Students Driving to Work, 1942

During WWI and WWII, Mount Holyoke women joined forces with the residents of South Hadley to grow produce in Victory Gardens and assist local farms in the hopes of contributing to the nation’s food supply. This exhibit explores Mount Holyoke women’s role in assisting the war efforts with food production during both World War I and World War II.
