Raga Mohammad, x-class of 1967, came to Mount Holyoke from Khartoum, Sudan. She was the first Sudanese student on Mount Holyoke’s campus, and she studied pre-medical studies. After graduating from Al-Fateh University in Tripoli, Libya in 1972, Mohammad studied physicochemical and engineering studies for the texturization of meat protein-based products using twin screw extrusion. She and her sister, Nouna Bakhiet, later supported their younger sister, Sarah M. Bakhiet, class of 1987, as a student at Mount Holyoke, after both of their parents died.
