Artist Statement/Bio

I think of my work as transitional and let the materials tell the story. Literal blank canvases that are begging to become and embody a story, memory or feeling. Whether telling tales of female subjugation or questioning current socio political norms, I subvert tension by using humor and abstraction to draw viewers in. Printmaking is the way in which I create a matrix from which beautiful abstractions come to life, creating a visual narrative which evokes feeling. I also have a love of vintage photos, magazines, and ephemera hence collage is one of the ways I practice sustainability.
