I make a variety of pieces, using oil, watercolor, and gouache paint as well as cut paper and handmade paper. Attention to physical and conceptual details such as paint strokes and careful cutting, aided by extensive planning and research, is very important to my work. Both my process, and the experience of viewing my art is meditative and I urge my audience to look closer at the details in my work.
In most of many of my pieces I enjoy working with silhouettes and cut-outs, playing with how and what the viewer perceives. I often work with narratives, both personal and from literature, working to convey the whole story through a single image. Some of my biggest influences are paper artists such as Cristian Marianciuc and Kara Walker.
