The Ecological Living Module (ELM) is a tiny home model that aims to be entirely self sufficient. The house produces its own clean electricity with solar panels and even grows food on the side of the building and inside in the sleeping loft. The building was designed by Gray Organschi Architecture and the Yale Center for Ecosystems in Architecture team and was prefabricated before being installed at UN Headquarters in New York.
One focus behind the design of this building is simplicity. It is small, with all the essentials to support the dwellers of the home, without having any excess, uselessness, or waste. This is exemplified in the sleek interior, free of decoration, so that the main focus of the space is form, and the natural beauty of the wood paneling.
