This treehouse in Salzburg, Austria was built by Julian Nocker and inspired by his childhood treehouse and Japanese tea houses.
The interior of the treehouse is tiny and simplistic, holding only a bed and a few other amenities. The interior is too small for a person to stand up in. Despite the small size makes my back hurt just thinking about not being able to stand up, the little box seems cozy and inviting. The treehouse seems like an ideal retreat from the world.
While being highly technical with pulley systems and carefully engineered to be secure on top of a pole, the treehouse is reminiscent of childhood with whimsical elements, such as flaps that open up so you can stick your feet out.
