My first book, <a href=\"https:\/\/cup.columbia.edu\/book\/common-ground\/9780231556354\"><em>Common Ground: Tibetan Buddhist Expansion and Qing China&#8217;s Inner Asia<\/em><\/a>, was published by Columbia University Press in early August 2022. It is also part of the book series: <a href=\"https:\/\/weai.columbia.edu\/content\/publications\">Studies of the Weatherhead East Asian Institute<\/a>. I actively maintain an <a href=\"https:\/\/commons.mtholyoke.edu\/lwumhc\/about\/errata\/\">errata<\/a> list for the book and wish to express my gratitude to the readers and reviewers who diligently spotted mistakes that eluded my own scrutiny.<\/p>\n<p>During the process of completing this book amidst the pandemic, I discovered a new form of meditation and excise that has been transformative on many levels&#8211;walking. This newfound practice has inspired me to embark on a fresh project centered around the history of animals in Inner Asia. Currently, I am working on my second monograph project, tentatively titled, <em><a href=\"https:\/\/commons.mtholyoke.edu\/lwumhc\/about\/horses\/\">Horse Power<\/a>: Working with Animals in Early Modern China. <\/em><\/p>\n<p>I graduated from the <a href=\"http:\/\/ealac.columbia.edu\/program\/graduate\/\">History-East Asia Program<\/a> in the Department of East Asian Languages and Cultures at Columbia University in 2016. I taught at the University of New Mexico before coming to Mount Holyoke College. Here, I teach a range of <a href=\"https:\/\/commons.mtholyoke.edu\/lwumhc\/\">courses<\/a> on East Asian history.<\/p>\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>I study history of early modern China and Inner Asia.
