4K definition is incredible—especially for film. It allows for a ton of malleability and opens up a ton of possibilities in post-production. However, for the novice filmmaker (like me) editing and exporting in 4K can be a huge challenge. It’s super important to make sure the footage you probably spent a lot of time and thought into getting exports in the same excellent quality that you shot it in. This video shows some great examples on how to adjust your export settings in order to accommodate 4K!
This video is short, clear, and concise. What’s great about it is that you can follow along on the screen to make sure your settings are correct. It’s easy to have on hand while you’re exporting. He does note that the settings he uses aren’t the be all, end all of settings when exporting in 4K—they’re just what works best for him. As with exporting in 4K, this will take a while (especially if your video is a little long). If you find that his method does not work, you could also explore other YouTubers videos and see what settings have been most successful for them!
