Freebies and Discounts for Students

College is expensive, but software doesn’t have to be. With your .edu email address, you have access to a variety of free and discounted software. The following is a list of apps and software that may prove useful in your studies that you can use your mtholyoke.edu email address to get for free or for a discount.

  • Autodesk: if you’ve taken an engineering, architecture, design, or animation class, you’ve likely come across or used Autodesk before. Autodesk software is free for students
  • Adobe: while still relatively expensive ($19.99/month), Adobe offers 60% off for students. Get the full suite of Adobe products, including Photoshop and Illustrator.
  • Office 365: if you’re tired of using google docs, sheets, and slides for everything, you may be happy to hear that you can get the whole Microsoft Office suite of products for free with your student email
  • Evernote: while Evernote’s basic plan is always free, the premium plan—which includes pdf annotation, email integration, and 10 GB of cloud storage—is 50% off for students. Start taking notes in a whole new way.
  • WolframAlpha: WolframAlpha is every math student’s savior. With the Pro plan, you can get access to step-by-step solutions and practice problems with hints for $4.75/month.
  • Rosetta Stone: though Rosetta Stone offers a general 10% off for students, you can get it for free through the Language Resource Center. Start learning a language now, and stop by the Language Resource Center in Ciruti Room 6 for additional language learning resources!
