The Void

The hard edges against the white of snow slowly disappear as the letters change from black to white. The letters, spelling out “W H E N T H I N G S B E G I N T O D i s a p p e a r i n t o t h e v o i”, slowly grow smaller, changing cases changing colors.

A reflection on the time of year, the change from fall to winter during Finals Season at college with the work load piling on. But more than that it is a work that encourages thought. The installation ignores spacing between words and zigzags the letters, demanding viewers to slow down and puzzle through the phrase. This is intended to also prompt thought as to the meaning, what “things” and what “void”. The viewer can and should make of this meaning as they will.
