Blueprint Series, monoprints on newsprint or cotton paper, small ~13″ x 13″ studies and large 20″ x 27″ works, 2021
Blueprint Series features several small studies and three larger 20” x 27” abstract monoprints. I used bubble wrap and netting to manipulate cyan ink to create these works. Through the printing process, I discovered that the geometric plastic material of bubble wrap can become something fluid and organic. When run through the press, the netting is similarly captured in motion and its circular structure mirrors the bubble wrap. The result in the larger works are entirely new and immersive landscapes created by mundane everyday materials.
