Zoom splices together footage from children’s shows, Zoom and Pee-Wee’s Playhouse, with recent footage from various Zoom meetings. This video piece explores ideas of virtual education, the evolution of technology, and the absurdity of so much of life now taking place on Zoom calls. To today’s ears the children’s call to “come on and zoom” seems to be a menacing demand to join another Zoom meeting.

As a visual artist and the General Manager of WMHC, I frequently think about how different media allow different forms of expression and wonder about how an auditory platform can serve visual artists. The Mime’s Radio Hour was a humorous way for me to explore the irony of visual storytelling through the radio.
