Domestic work was at the heart of Mary Lyon’s plan when she founded Mount Holyoke Seminary. This exhibit explores the role of domestic work at the college, from Mary Lyon’s original domestic system of work circles, to the abolition of domestic work, and the co-op dorms, work study, and domestic staff that came after.
