Typically, each of the cube\u2019s faces are polished smooth, but sometimes they are etched with runes. The device enables its possessor to put up a special cube made up of force magic that prevents specific materials form passing it in a 5-foot aura around the person. This cubic screen moves with the person and is impervious to the attack forms mentioned on the table below. When an effect is active, the user\u2019s speed is limited to the maximum value given on the table.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The cube has 36 charges when fully charged and these charges are renewed every 24 hours. The possessor presses one face of the cube as a single action to activate a particular type of screen or to deactivate the device. Each effect costs a certain number of charges to maintain for every minute it is in operation. When the cube of force is active, attacks drain the cube of 1 charge per 10 points of damage beyond the first 30 points. The first 39 points of damage do not affect the cube.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Spells that affect the integrity of the screen also drain extra charges. These spells cannot be cast into or out of the cube.
