Teaching

As a mathematics professor, I aim to both teach students mathematics and also empower students at all levels to see themselves as mathematicians. I consider my pedagogy to be heavily influence by feminist pedagogy, queer pedagogoy, and (more specifically) bell hooks’ concept of engaged pedagogy as described in her Teaching Trilogy. Since Fall 2021, I have been using various alternative grading techniques in my courses and am always happy to chat about these experiences.

Next Semester (Fall 2024):
I will be teaching Math 100QR: Precalculus: Problem Solving and Quantitative Reasoning and Math 319NT: Number Theory. If you are registered for either of those classes and have questions about them or are not registered, but are interested in either of them, please e-mail me!
