WINDS OF CHANGE

This installation incorporates the theme of seasonal transition and our experiential journey at Mount Holyoke College. The installation emulates a wind gust that takes you on a journey through the three seasons we encounter each academic year at Mount Holyoke. Beginning with Fall, each metal sheet and wire leaf was modeled after leaves found scattered on Mount Holyoke’s campus. Transitioning into Winter, the organically shaped plexiglass is an abstract representation of snow gusts that we encounter in the Pioneer Valley. Finishing our journey in the spring, we conclude with different seeds, pods, and plants which are abstractly represented by beeswax and paraffin wax forms. This installation embodies the celebration of change and transition through the seasons and our lives here at Mount Holyoke College.
