Comfort

At the beginning of the semester, I was not confident at all in presenting in front of the class. I am a very introverted person, and I tend to stutter, sweat, and my hands shake whenever I have to give a presentation. It doesn’t matter if it’s a big or small group. My level of comfort has definitely changed, even though it might not seem like it. I still get nervous like any other person, but I can see improvement in myself.

Self-regulation has helped me with preparing for a presentation. I have to plan what I have to say and practice my speech to feel more prepared. Belongingness is another factor that helps me feel more confident, because I have connected with other people from class; I know we all feel some type of uncertainty in certain situations. Knowing I will receive feedback to improve has also contributed to my level of comfort. Reviewing feedback from others will give me a different perspective of my work, and I will do better the next time.
