Production contracts are meant to ensure that all members of a production team are aware of their particular responsibilities and job requirements. They are also a way to protect members of a production from being overworked and burdened with responsibilities that are not necessarily theirs. Every production is different, and may require different tasks to be performed that are not explicitly stated in these contracts. Directors should be clear about their expectations for everyone involved at the time of contract signing, and everyone should consider signing those contracts as an acknowledgement of any additional expectations the director brings up at the time of signing. The PT Ombudsperson may be present to make certain that these expectations are not unreasonable.
