Extra! Extra! The Story of Mount Holyoke News

Two students at a desk. Painted on the brick wall behind the students are the words "ALL the NEWS that FITS we PRINT...."
Karen Bang-Jensen, editor-in-chief, talking to a staff member in news office, 1965.

For over 100 years, Mount Holyoke students have published a newspaper that reflects the values and concerns of the College’s community at the time. This exhibit explores the evolution of The Mount Holyoke News (MHN) over the years.

This online exhibit was curated by Lena Holt, class of 2027, Archives Assistant, based on a physical exhibit curated by Shannon Reilly, class of 2017 and Samantha Snodgrass, class of 2018, on the occasion of The Mount Holyoke News’ 100th anniversary. Special thanks to the staff of the Mount Holyoke College Archives and Special Collections.
