Fall 2018 Games

Goblins R Jerks – Ally Kelley

Those goblins. Yes goblins, those annoying little creatures who run around wreaking havoc in your dnd games. Those hordes who provide an easy win for your party. Love them or hate them, one thing is for sure: goblins are jerks. In this game, you won’t be fighting goblins (probably,) you will instead be playing goblins (definitely.) This campaign is going to be a bit (very) silly and lighthearted and will let you be a jerk of a goblin to your heart’s content.

Cold Cases and Cold Cuts – Sydney Brown

Three years ago, the annual banquet hosted by the Marcus family for local adventurers ended in tragedy. Every guest was poisoned, including the two hosts, leaving the only survivor their sixteen year-old daughter, Kya. Now nineteen, Kya’s decided to reinstate the banquet – and you’re all invited. You’re only a little convinced someone’s going to wind up dead, but hey, what could go wrong? This mystery takes place in the small, seemingly idyllic town of Mayridge and its surrounding forests and settlements, and centers around bringing the events of three years ago to light in order to solve the mysteries of the present. Despite townsfolk that seem determined to keep their secrets, everything will turn out just fine! Right?

This game is roleplay-heavy, but there will be opportunities for confrontations depending on how your characters interact with the world!

System: DnD 5e

Refugees in Disguise – Robin Pegau

You fled the start of the war. You were an Outlier, one of the few possessing strange abilities. When the academy that took you in burned and the Senate kidnapped its founder, you and your friends ran, hiding in stasis deep in space. You woke millions of years later to find nothing but burning embers and Cybertron, your home planet, dead. Now you find yourselves on a planet called Earth, surrounded by small and squishy beings who don’t know aliens exist, let alone giant metal ones.

Be ready for anything, and remember: you’re robots in disguise.

Oh, and that war? Both factions’ generals are here, and they’ll want your strength on their side.

System: Homebrew based in D20 Modern

Cult of Men eating snakes – Destinee Kemp

Then come to the great colony of Dawnmoss… Enjoy our hypnotizing views and stay in one of our five star, Laser Mines. All of this can be yours for one tour of duty in the Laser Corps. Come to Dawnmoss. But that’s not all, not even close. Dawnmoss has everything you need that the Empire can’t provide. This will not be a “serious” game. If there is some wild character you’ve always wanted to play, the wild wild world of Dawnmoss might be your chance. This game requires no prior knowledge of Star Wars, the game more takes place in the Star Wars universe than it is a STAR WARS game.

Moonguard – Caroline Knote

Hello! Welcome to the Moonguard, an Adventuring guild based in the city of Neverwinter on the Sword Coast. You’ve joined to use your adventuring expertise to help people and villages across the Forgotten Realm! Group up with other adventurers in the guild to go on quests, rescue missions, dungeon crawls and treasure hunts across Faerun!

This game is going to work such that rather than having one solid storyline, there will be a series of short adventures and quests that you can go on. The game is designed so that you can drop in and out of game as needed and can go on adventures that you find interesting! You can bring a character if you want to try out a class, you could also grab a pre-made character. You will be able to play different characters in different adventures if you would like to. Homebrew is welcome but must be approved prior to game!

System: DnD 5e
Notes: The game is episodic so not all players need be present at each session, making this game great those of you who want more flexibility in your gaming schedule. Adventures will usually last 1 or 2 sessions. This game can accommodate those who plan to miss more than two meetings.

Mystery at Miskatonic – Esther Simon

The year is 1923. You are students of photography studying under the strange but brilliant Professor Wilson Webb at Miskatonic University. At one time Professor Webb was considered one of the greatest masters of the medium, but but in the last 10 years he has not produced a single photograph to the public and rarely leaves his laboratory except to teach. On the day the final project for the class is due, Professor Webb is nowhere to be found.

If you want to pass your class and graduate on time you have no choice but to find the missing professor. The trail of the case will lead you out of your quiet college town and down a rabbit hole of mystery and crime as it becomes ever clearer that Professor Webb was mixed up in something deeper and more sinister than even he suspected. Can you find your missing professor, and are you willing to face unspeakable evil, maybe even grapple with the fate of humanity itself, to pass a class? Of course you are.

A Matter of Time – Grace Alexander

It’s been said that time is money. In your world, they’re one and the same. Everything is bought and paid for in the time you have left to live. All your life, you’ve been told your clock is your ticket to immortality, the crowning achievement of humanity, a miraculous work of science granting you mastery over death – if, they tell you, if you are careful and remember to spend your time wisely. But, if death is nothing more than a stranger from the past, then why does it haunt the destitute streets of your city, claiming those who have struggled so hard to keep their clocks from reaching zero, only to lose their lives to a system that seems to have abandoned each and every one of you? Perhaps the answers lie with the shadowy organization it seems you’ve had a run-in with. If you can find them, there is no telling what you may uncover – but, perhaps, they are only the beginning of a much more sinister plot, one that could shake the society you’ve always known to its very core.

AllSouls: The Windows Light the Candles – Phoebe Cullen

It’s the war of 1812 in this Poe-esque, Lovcraftain alternate Earth. Hailing from whatever origin and species you choose your characters are the crew of the ship the Seamaid (how you got there is up to you), smugglers of the occult and strange, running your wares around the dark, madness haunted corners of New England. Gangs are terrorizing the streets of New York, battling the law and each other with fearful forces that threaten all souls in America, if not beyond. In Boston one of the Old Ones has gained sway over the city sapping its life and sanity. In Salem a ravening regiment dressed like the dead is rising to march on the profane, wherever they may be. Along the Seacoast more and more ghost-candles burn in the windows of starving coastal villages as unnatural storms savage ships, washing new dead on shore at every dawn. Perhaps you sought escape from these grim times by running to the Seamaid but your captain Rosevelyn Boane is haunted by a specter of her own, which just might drag you to Hell and back as she seeks retribution.

This is a game steeped in dark New England lore, open to newcomers and old hands. I highly encourage players to get into character, as the game is character driven and adventures are shaped around character’s backstories and traits. (That being said character acting is optional. I’m also happy to help with character creation and backstories!) I’m a very flexible GM and mostly I want players to just have fun.

System: Homebrew / Pathfinder based
Notes: The game is episodic so not all players need be present at each session, for this reason my game is great for other GMs or those of you who want more flexibility in your gaming schedule. This game has something for everyone–a good mix of social encounters, battles, and puzzles, high sea adventure, and daring overland escapades. If you are a lore geek, if you want to meet the things that go bump in the night, if you like mayhem and a bloody good time then join the AllSouls Campaign as we try to bring some light into the center of this storm.
