Bonjour! Je m’appelle Olivia. Pour les cinq mois prochains, je continue ma troisième année à l’université au Cameroun. Pendant mon séjour, je reste avec une famille d’accueil à Yaoundé, la capitale de Cameroun. Je vais à l’Université Catholique d’Afrique Centrale où toutes mes classes sont en français et j’étude la culture, la politique, et l’économie du Cameroun et des autres pays Africains. Puisque je spécialise en des relations internationales, j’étudie au Cameroun parce que je voudrais apprendre sur le monde à travers des expériences directes et personnelles. J’espère acquérir une meilleure compréhension des structures culturelle, sociale, politique, et économique du Cameroun et des autres pays Africains. J’ai choisi Cameroun comme ma destination parce qu’il est un pays francophone qui a une histoire très intéressante. Allons-y!

Hi, my name is Olivia and for the next five months I will be continuing my Junior Year college studies in the Central African country of Cameroon. While abroad, I will be living with a host family in the capitol city Yaoundé, taking classes (all in French!) at the Université Catholique d’Afrique Centrale, and immersing myself in Cameroonian and African cultures. As an International Relations major, studying abroad is important to me because it will allow me to learn about the world through first-hand experiences and personal accounts. By living with a local family and taking classes at a local university, I hope to gain a deeper and more robust understanding of the cultural, social, political, and economic climate of Cameroon and other African countries. I selected Cameroon as my place of study because it is a diverse, French-speaking country with an extremely interesting political and economic history.
