The stories, no matter where they originate, are typically static with only minor details changing. This is untrue for visual depictions. First and foremost, physical images can only express a portion of the narrative even if they employ a continuous narrative and show multiple scenes. For this reason, there is far more variation amongst the artistic outcomes.
