Imagine having to sit elbow to elbow during a long art history lesson in 19th-century garb and having to take turns to look at the prints and photographs that correspond to your lesson. This classroom scenario was part of the day-to-day and was one of the conditions that prompted Randolph to advocate for a space for the arts and the instruction of art history.
