Portrait of Edith Hall Dohan
This photograph was taken in 1940 at the University of Pennsylvania Museum. Hall worked there on and off from 1912 until her death in 1943. She conducted an excavation in Vrokastro on behalf of the museum. And when she returned to the states, she worked as assistant curator and designer of the Cretan Room. In 1920, however, she became the associate curator of the entire Mediterranean section. And she devoted most of her time to the maintenance and display of the museum’s collections.
