These frescos, originally located in a Pompeian home, were rescued from the ash-ridden ruins of that volcano-devastated island and bought by Hill in Rome were stored in the home of Hill’s brother in Manchester, NH before making their way by staff member’s van to Mount Holyoke College in 1958.
