Van Deman’s correction of Christian Hülsen’s inaccurate Via Sacra dating is famously noted, explaining why cartoonist Otto Völckers contributed this illustration to her 70th birthday. He cheekily depicts Nero showing her the porticus he built accompanied by her camera, works, and a weeping Hülsen with his delegitimized work beside him.
