Targeting

Prerequisite: Grit

Cost: 5 Points

As a Double Action, you can declare a part of a target’s body and spend the listed Grit points. When you do so, you make a Strike attack. On a success, you deal damage normally and apply the listed effects for that part of the body. If a creature does not have that part of the body, it cannot be subject to that type of targeting.

Arms (1 Grit Point): On a successful Strike, the target drops one item of your choice which it currently wields, no matter how many hands it is being held with. Attached items cannot be dropped and creatures which are immune to the Disarm Combat Maneuver are immune to this Targeting.

Head (2 Grit Points): On a successful Strike, the target is inflicted with the Confused condition for a number of rounds equal to a quarter the damage you deal on this Strike (rounded down, minimum 1). Creatures with multiple heads are immune to this Targeting.

Legs (1 Grit Point): On a successful Strike, the target is inflicted with the Prone condition and any speeds that rely on their legs are reduced by 10 feet (minimum 0 feet). The Speed penalties are removed when the target regains hit points. Creatures with four or more legs or immune to the Trip Combat Maneuver are immune to this Targeting.

Tail or Tentacle (1 Grit Point): On a successful Strike, the target cannot use their tail or tentacle for any actions until they regain hit points.

Torso (2 Grit Points): Your Strike becomes a critical on a natural 19 or 20 on a 1d20 or if the attack roll is 10 or more than the target’s AC.

Wings (1 Grit Points): On a successful Strike, the target’s Fly Speed is reduced by 20 feet (minimum 0 feet) until they regain hit points. If they are currently flying, they must make an Acrobatics check with a DC equal to 10 + the damage you dealt or fall 30 feet.
