With a word and motion, you send a bolt of chaotic, magical energy at a creature within range. Make a Spell Attack. If it hits, this bolt deals a number of d8s damage equal to half your Proficiency Score. The type of damage dealt is determined by selecting one of the values rolled on the d8s and applying the related tag listed below. The spell gains the tag of the damage.

If at least two of the d8s have the same value, the energy jumps to another target of your choice within 30 feet. Roll another Spell Attack against this next target and, if it hits, another damage roll like before. A creature that has been hit by a particular casting of Chaos Bolt cannot be a targeted again for that same casting. Chaos Bolt is on the Arcane Spell List.
