A chime of opening is a hollow mithral tube about a foot long. When struck, it sends forth magical vibrations that cause locks, lids, doors, valves, and portals to open. The device functions against normal bars, shackles, chains, bolts, and so on. This automatically opens any item that does not have the magical tag. A chime of opening also automatically dispels a Lock spell cast at a 1st level and attempts to dispel a higher-level Lock spell with a +10 bonus. A chime of opening is an uncommon item.
