Crafting represents one’s ability to make or repair items. It is extremely useful in sustainable practices and manageable budgets since it allows for continuous use of weapons, armor, and other gear through repair. It also provides a reliable source of income to those willing to invest time and practice into their crafting skill.
Make sure to check the Crafting Rules.

You can use Crafting checks to create an item. Most of the rules around such checks are dependent on the object you are making. See Beyond the Skill Basics, for more about how to earn an income with skill checks and the rules around crafting objects.

Crafting, using a Repair Kit, can be used to fix a broken object and thus remove either the Broken condition or up to three Dents. This is very useful for keeping weapons, armor, and important gear in good condition.
Most basic equipment needs a DC 15 to repair a single Dent. A critical success on such a check can repair up to two Dents. Removing the Broken condition requires a DC 25 Crafting check and leaves the object with at least one Dent still, which can be repaired with a follow up Repair action. Equipment made with special materials adds the material bonus to the Repair DC, whether that is for a Dent or the Broken condition.
