Delayed Explosive

bomb, consumable, fire, splash

  • Price: dependent
  • Bulk: L

This variation on alchemist’s fire involves a delaying agent and a larger area of effect. Unlike alchemist’s fire, a delayed explosive needs to be mixed with an activator ingredient, sold with the Delayed explosive, as a Single Action and then placed at the location for it to explode, not requiring a Ranged Strike. It delays up to a number of rounds listed, however a shorter time can be decided when the activator is mixed. A delayed explosive affects a 10-foot burst with its splash affecting another 10 feet outwards. Creatures within either the area of effect or the splash must make the listed DC Reflex Save. On a success, creatures in the area of effect still take half damage while creatures in the splash take no damage.

Delayed explosive deals the listed fire damage, Persistent Damage, and splash damage. The target can end this Persistent Damage by normal means of removing the condition or by becoming submerged in water or otherwise entering an area deprived of air. Unless otherwise listed, a delayed explosive is a common item, and all damage has the fire tag.
