You receive no information beyond presence or absence. You can choose not to detect creatures or affects you are aware have that alignment. Only those with the Devout Follower and a Proficiency Score of 6 or higher, a creature with the Undead tag, and beings from the Outer Sphere have an alignment aura. Detect Alignment is on the Divine and Occult Spell Lists.
