You are a highly religious person to a deity or philosophy. You become proficient with your deity’s or religion’s favored weapon. You must spend one hour every day in prayer, meditation, or contemplation concerning your respected religion. In doing so you gain the ability to use the other traits that require Devout Follower as a prerequisite. Unless there are other circumstances, failing to spend time in prayer, meditation, or contemplation has consequences.
Failing to pray for an hour a day means you lose access to any traits that require Devout Follower until you spend an hour in prayer. Failing to pray for a week means you lose access to all traits that require Devout Follower until you spend 24 hours in prayer, meditation, or contemplation to regain Devout Follower.
Acting contrary to your deity’s addicts through actions or words also means you lose access to all traits that require Devout Follower until you spend 24 hours in prayer, meditation, or contemplation to regain Devout Follower. If you have to pray for the 24 hours more than three times to regain this trait in a short period of time, you lose Devout Follower and cannot gain it in regards to your original deity or religion for a full year. You can only follow one deity or philosophy at a given time.
