conjuration, enchantment, magical
- Casting Time: 3 actions; Material, Somatic, and Verbal
- Range: 100 feet
- Target: up to 5 creatures
- Duration: see text
- Save: Will save
Choose a single fact you want all targets to believe. Their experiences color how they react to this “truth” and how their behavior changes. If the fact changes what they perceive, they treat the change as a sudden revelation. The fact could be narrow, such as “a dragon is circling overhead and wants to kill me,” to wide-reaching, such as “all humanoids are disguised abominations,” to conceptual, such as “if I do not live a kinder life, I will be punished in the afterlife.” The effect depends on the targets’ Will saves. On a failure the target believes the fact for a week, while on a critical failure the target believes the fact indefinitely. If a target is already subject to a Fabricated Truth which contradicts the new casting, your spell tries to dispel the older casting. If the check fails, the target cannot get an outcome worse than success. Otherwise, a creature can be subject to two or more Fabricated Truth spells. Fabricated Truth is on the Occult Spell List.
