You create a pattern of shifting colors that hovers in the air. Creatures are Dazzled while inside the pattern. A creature must attempt a Will saving throw when you cast the spell if the creature is inside the pattern, when they enter the pattern, when they end a turn within the pattern, or when they attempt to interact with the pattern. On a failure the target is Fascinated while on a critical failure the target is Fascinated and cannot take reactions. A creature currently Dazzled or Fascinated by the pattern does not get to attempt new saves. Hypnotic Pattern is on the Arcane and Occult Spell Lists.
