Someone with Master Crafting can create a philosopher’s stone once per month, at an hour per 24 hours limiting the speed at which it can be made. This is the only way to create a philosopher’s stone.
At a glance, a philosopher’s stone appears to be an ordinary, sooty piece of natural rock. Breaking the rock open with an Athletics check (DC 23) reveals a cavity at the stone’s heart. The cavity is lined with a rare type of quicksilvers that can transmute base metals into precious metals or create an elixir of rejuvenation.
To use the stone’s quicksilver, you must have the Master Crafting trait. You can then apply the stone’s quicksilver for one of two effects:
- You can apply the stone’s quicksilver to a true Elixir of Life using three actions with the Interact tag to create an infused Elixir of Rejuvenation. This is instantaneous and does not require any crafting time or additional materials.
- You can spend up to a month of downtime applying the quicksilvers either to iron to create silvers or to lead to create gold. You create 5,000 silvers or 500 gold per day on a successful DC 30 and you create 7,500 silvers or 750 gold per day on a critical success.
The philosopher’s stone is an artifact item.
