Society represents one’s ability to recall and understand information about society. This is also used for social interactions within various parts of society and is used for linguistics, writing, and living.


Forgery

You can use Society to create a forged document or artwork. Timing can vary depending on the particular forgery but in most cases requires a minimum of an hour to produce accurate work, unless it is a single forged signature or the like, which might reduce the time to thirty minutes. This generally starts at a DC 15 to 20. It increases by 5 if the forgery needs to be very details and another 10 if the materials matter. Precisely mimicking a handwriting or artistic methods of an individual is automatically a DC 25.


Linguistics

Society can be used to read or write a foreign language or code. This does not allow understanding of a spoken language, though a Society check might be used to develop rough communication using hand signals and pantomimes. Simple languages or codes start at a DC 15. The DC increases by 5 as the complexity goes up. It also increases by 5 for rarer languages.


Recall Knowledge

Society can be used to remember information about a culture, location, or people. This might be about the local population or distant lands and includes everything from societal and governmental structures to dining etiquette to trade agreements and traditions.

Common knowledge is often a DC 10 or does not require a check while more subject specific knowledge is a DC 15. Recalling precise and more extensive details increases the DC to 20. Very obscure information is often a DC 25 or 30, and secrets might not even allow a success without the necessary research or resources. If you are not as familiar with the subject being recalled, the DC can increase anywhere from 5 to 15 points while familiarity can similarly decrease the DC. Resources, such as books or experts on a subject, can reduce the DC as low as 10.


Rough Living

You can use Society to survive in the streets of towns, cities, or other more densely populated areas. Such survival includes finding food and shelter in the area. It may not take the 24 hours, but the benefits do last for 24 hours. Most DCs for Rough Living are between 15 and 20. Some extremely dangerous cities increase that DC to 25. One failed check inflicts the Fatigued condition. Two failed checks in a row inflicted the Drained 2 condition. Three failed Rough Living checks consecutively causes the Unconscious and Dying conditions as if by lethal damage.
