Wolfolk

Wolfolk are wolf-headed humanoids who can transform into canines. While this sometimes confuses others into mistaking a wolfolk for a werewolf, these humanoids are not lycanthropes. In fact, most detest werewolves and hunt them mercilessly.

Physical Description: A wolfolk is a muscular, wolf-headed humanoid covered in brown, gray, or black fur. Occasionally a wolfolk will have white or silver fur. They often have yellow or brown eyes and slighly more canine teeth and harden finger and toenails. Those who drawn from their wolf influences more heavily can have canine ears or a tail.

Wolfolk reach adulthood around 18, with middle age at 35 and old age around 53. The most venerable of this ancestry live into their 70s.

Wolkfolk are sexual dimorphic, with the average height of males under six feet and females just over five feet. Their body mass is similar, making most females weigh slightly less than males.

Society: The ancestry is not numerous or widespread and wolfolk tend to live in secluded communities. They are very protective of their families and friends and the communities they form tend to be strict and lawful. In their homeland, wolfolk are most plentiful in swamps and marshes, where it is believed they originated, but have since spread throughout the rest of the world.

While most of wolfolk society is upstanding and trustworthy, as with any group there are some violent and aggressive members. These individuals occasionally form into packs that raid the countryside and prey upon the just and kind. Wolfolk are generally civilized and loyal, and most are quick to hunt down and punish their feral kin for their foul deeds.

Relations: Wolfolk, despite common thought, get along quite well with catfolks, often due to shared persecution. But, when relations become tension, friction often forms since catfolk are better accepted than wolfolk, often due to the confusion between wolfolk and werewolves.

Alignment and Religion: Often lend towards communal alignments.

In Edinose, wolfolk often follow Echhart, though many also worship Anboleyn or Esella.

Adventurers: Rare, wolfolk adventurers are often those with wanderlust or those who have been run out of their original community. There are also those who have grown up outside the wolfolk communities due to happenstance.
